Average Home League Attendance
« on: December 28, 2006, 06:03:18 PM »

After Boxing Day, we are up to 1,158. With a few more big gates to come potentially (Oxford, York etc), we are looking very good for an 1,100 average come the end of the season which is a massive boost for the club as we continue to move forward on and off the pitch.

All very good news.

Thing is who were the extra 800 or so.....old fans, interested locals or what? I expected about 1500 for this one and was simply astounded by the gate. If these extra fans are out there we need to try and keep and nurture them. What could we achieve with a 1400 or so average gate?

Me too!

I do not think fgr will be much of a draw Though?

Hope we get 1,000+

I doubt they will bring many? 100 max (and that's optimistic) ;D

What could we achieve with 1400 gates?

We might actually outbid Stalybridge or Harrogate (or Fleetwood)  for a player!

I've read on their forum that we should expect only about 30 or so  :-\

To be honest I'd be delighted if we got 1,000 against FGR.  The Northwich crowd was excellent but we shouldn't get carried away for Saturday.

Northwich brought loads, FGR won't. Northwich was going to attract more local interest than FGR will.  Also there were some shops etc shut on Boxing Day which definitely helped our cause, so there'll be more reason to "do other things" on Saturday.  Then again, I think some will come back after what they saw against Northwich.

I'll be the first to hope that we get something like 1,300 and I hope I'm proved wrong.  I'll plump for something between 900 and 1000.

But our average this season has been excellent so far in the circumstances.

I'm amazed there was only 912, I reckoned about 1200! But with the 12 they brought thats 900 Alty fans on a wet and windy day for not the most attractive fixture of the season.

Any way onwards and eastwards to the coldest place in England tomorrow.
