I have the following NPL away games with Hyde:

1968/9 lost 0-2
1969/70 lost 1-2 don't know scorer or crowd
1997/8 won 1-0 Sharratt 989
1998/9 won 1-0 Power 964
2000/01 lost 2-4 Scott 2 674
2001/02 lost 2-3 Strange, Murphy 437
2002/03 won 2-0 Robertson, Band

And do not forget the 1989/90 CSC Semi Final where we beat them 2-1 and were then thrown out of the competition for playing TWO ineligible player!

I was 14 then when we were thrown out..I can remember being gutted!

One of the players was Martin Lewis..who was the other?

It should not be forgotten that, way before we acquired Dale and Nicky from them, Hyde United provided two of our true legends - Freddie Pye, and Jeff Johnson.

I remember Freddie Pye well. He was manager when I was club mascot back in the early 60s
Happy days   ;) ;D

Martin 'my mum fancies you' Lewis and Ricky Greenhough were the two ineligible players in the Cheshire cup tie.

They in fact provided three. Those two and Carl Hodgert Ricky Harris.

Four I suppose if you include them being the place where Colin Little first made his name. (Five with Val)

Ballers,

How could you overlook Andy Kilner....?

Not to mention Jeff Johnson's brother, Steve.

Or even the great Barry Howard, who began his career with Hyde United.

Actually on the Hyde Untied site htey have a past players archive and there is some pretty illustrious names on there.

For example, in that 2-4 reverse that Scotty bagged 2 in, one of Hyde's goals was by an ex team mate of mine Lee WIlkinson but his strike partner that night was.....?

Well, actually I'm not sure if Jody Banim played but Wilky's strike partner that night was Rob Hulse. on loan from Crewe Alex and latterly of West Brom and Derby.

If you put the earlier version of Little, Yeo and Banim in with Hulse and co there are a fair few decent footballers who have passed through Ewan Fields!!

Indeed, Rob Hulse was at Hyde the season before.

Many good memories of our clashes ihome and away in the yesteryears.
Barry HOWARD was one of my all time favourite Alty  players.
I have had many a good conversation remembering Barry with one of his ex team mates at Mossley and Ashton  (big centre half Ken Wolstenholme.)
I truely wish Hyde every bit of luck in their appeal, and future existance

I was talking to a Hyde fan on Saturday night, they had a meeting for fans etc.during Saturday afternoon when the situation was explained to everyone, they have been messed about by 'those in authority' and today is the day when they can 'appeal'. They planned to be able to have enough money on the table today to get a stay of execution. I just hope something can be sorted, it seems awful that they are being wound up when a few other clubs we could name, with far bigger debts, just seem to carry on regardless.
