Does anyone know if the rules state that shinpads have to be worn during a game?  Because FGR's captain (no. 6) blatently wasn't wearing any.  We told the linesman several times throughout the game, so wasn't sure if he should have been on the pitch or not.

Acording to the Laws of the Game 2009-2010, Law 4 states that:
The basic conpulsory equipment of a player comprises the following seperate items:
A jersey with sleeves
Shorts
Stockings
Shinguards
Footwear.

Not sad, just a referee

My dad used to tell me to wear my jersey, meaning a jumper, pullover, whatever, I've never seen the term elsewhere until today. Interested to know the origins.
